Step 1: Chop the Veggies
Finely chop tomatoes and onions.
Mince garlic and chop basil leaves and place them in a medium bowl.
Step 2: Prepare Tomato Mixture
Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
Add garlic and onion and saute it for about 2-3 minutes.
Add salt, pepper, and basil leaves and saute for another minute.
Add balsamic vinegar and tomatoes and cook for two minutes.
Remove the pan from heat.
Step 3: Bake Bread
Cut bread slices into 4 pieces.
Brush them generously with olive oil on both sides of the bread.
Bake in a 350-degree oven for about 10 minutes or until the bread turns golden.
Step 4: Garnish Baguette Slices
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 tbsp Minced Garlic
- 2 Red Onions, diced
- Fresh Basil leaves (12-15), Chiffonade or Dried Basil Leaves or Thyme
- 1 tbsp Balsamic Vinegar
- 3 Large Tomatoes, diced
- 1 Loaf of Italian Bread, sliced
- ¼ Cup Olive Oil
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- Mozzarella Cheese
